cameras, cups, and composition.

I've always been a photo maniac. I cannot get through the day without either looking at photos, on flickr.com & other websites, and taking my own. I'm definitely NOT a photo expert...but i'm really trying to expand my skills and finally learn how to use my eyes and use the little ability I do have & turn it into something bigger. [In the fall I started training as a photographer at Jc Penney's Portrait Studio, but didn't get to work there very long because of the economy... BUT! I had an interview with a local photographer this week. I am possibly going to assist her, shooting at weddings starting in the Spring!]

I am finally taking another basic photo class. [Which is perfecto since I've been longing to learn more about photography and i'm majoring in media studies.] I think it will be really challenging for me and at least point me in the right direction, creatively.
I just bought my first digital SLR, a Canon Rebel XSi, in November and i finally have the opportunity to use it. Our first photography assignment was just about basic composition, using the same subject, location, and idea to transform each image into a completely different photo. So, I thought i'd share some of the photos I used for this project since you've heard me mention it! Nothing special... I kept it super simple since my skills aren't divine times nine yet.

The Cups.

The Vase.

The sister.

the end.

You rock, my friend!! You've already got an amazingly photographic mind... I can't wait to see what you can do once you master your 'instrument' (SLR)
